The item you are viewing is the second in a series of 5 Twilight Zone DVD collections, each containing 9 volumes of 4 episodes each. ….
Not terrible, eh? The only incompatibility between the box site DVDs and the individual ones are the cases. They are better, in my notion, because they are more compact and yet aren’t those [inexpensive] cardboard things. You also accept a nice box to house them in.
Onto the say. If you’re a fan of only some of the episodes — the most approved ones that people always talk about, chances are you should steal Collection 1 first (contains “To Befriend Man”, “Nightmare At 20,000 Feet”, etc.) . But there are definitely some classics contained in Collection 2. Among the 36 episodes (Volumes 10-18 of the individual DVDs) are:

Why does Amazon charge $89 for a boxed dwelling of 9 discs each worth $5? It should at least atomize even and be $45. I have found a Twilight Zone collection of 9 disks stamp unusual somewhere else for $35. Approach on Amazon, I know you can do better than this.

In India, there is a word mature to announce the blessing conferred by seeing or touching a big or holy person. That word is “darshan.”
Buy,Download, Or Stream Mother Teresa: The Legacy! Click Here
I maintain that I have experienced “darshan” from viewing the film Mother Teresa: The Legacy, the official film for the beatification of Mother Teresa.
Mother Teresa: The Legacy documents Mother Teresa’s profound impact on the world as visibly demonstrated by a very special public spot funeral in India attended by 8,000 people, including Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Muslim and other religious leaders, political leaders of all persuasions and the rich and grand from across the globe. The film also includes footage of Mother Teresa’s private burial and clips of interviews with Mother Teresa in which she expresses her profound wisdom with simplicity and clarity.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Mother Teresa: The Legacy! Click Here
Mother Teresa’s works of treasure and selfless service affirmed the greatness and dignity of every human person and transcended religion and politics. This is why she was so widely embraced by people of all faiths and backgrounds.
Mother Teresa: The Legacy is the sequel to filmmakers Ann and Jeanette Petrie’s glowing 1986 film Mother Teresa, which was filmed over a period of five years in 10 countries. That film was one of the most spiritually uplifting and spicy films I have ever seen in my life. I was brought to tears during that film as well as during Mother Teresa: The Legacy.
If you are seeking spiritually exalting movies, be obvious to fetch both of these movies and be bathed in the care for of one of the most spiritually- exalted women ever to spin the earth. The life of Mother Teresa bore the fruit of a total and unconditional surrender to the path of adore and service through action. And that fruit was so mighty that it has touched the whole world. More than a quarter million people flooded St. Peter’s Square in Rome for Mother Teresa’s beatification on October 19, 2003. And her Missionaries of Charity carry on her work at shelters, orphanages and clinics in over 100 countries that are dedicated to caring for those forsaken by everyone else. Mother Teresa’s work and example has touched the lives of millions of people and the world is a better spot because of her.
First saw this film at the world premiere in Canada at WYD 2002. Film played the evening of July 24th and sight it with friends sitting on the grass. Mother Teresa’s words touched me. I looked for the film after returning home but only now found a copy.

Flipper the TV series was made before my time, but I grew up watching reruns of the classic series. As long as I live, Flipper will always be one of my common TV series of all time. Impartial like the TV series, the distinguished dolphin named Flipper is here in “Flipper’s Unusual Adventure” making rescues, helping people, and unprejudiced being the ample primitive talented Flipper that performs astonishing exploits in the water.
In this movie, Brian Kelly makes his debut as Porter Ricks, Luke Halpin plays as Sandy, and Flipper is played by…Flipper. In “Flipper’s Recent Adventure,” (yep, it’s a full-length movie), Flipper and Sandy spend an island as a hideaway and they both later earn tangled up in a kidnapping exploit. If you’re familiar with the TV series, then you’ll glowing great know what to inquire from this movie. Unlike the Leonard Maltin review says, this movie is not unprejudiced for kids, it’s for anybody who has ever liked the TV series, or for anyone who likes well-behaved movies. I recommend it all the scheme!
I purchased this dvd for my grandson and he loves it. It came in perfect

As a Japanese living in the United Staes, I can say totally, that this film is fabulous. There’re some critics says Tom Cruise’s acting and so on, however, this film sucessfully depicts the history of Japan, and people’s worn lives and the extinguish of samurai era.
This is a spectacular movie with sweeping sword actions and it is based on the right history events in japan, I’ve seen a lot of samurai movies(made in japan for japanese) but i can say this one is Big as the other movies, plus this is not usual hollywood movies that awfully depicts samurais and even Yakuzas and brush off the truth.
I can say, however, without Tom Soar, this movie could have also been enormous as well. But i would guess that it is because of him, this movie gained more attention among people and so typical americans can secure the belief of what samurai really is and what they really consider.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Last Samurai! Click Here
so overall i gave this movie 5 stars. I thought to go scrutinize it again.
This film has been compared (a lot) to Dances with Wolves due to the fact that they both fraction similar themes. A Civil War era soldier who finds himself thrown in the middle of a different culture and ends up embracing it and becoming piece of it.
However, Edward Zwick’s film differs from the Kevin Costner Oscar winner in that the significant character, Lt. Nathan Algren (Flee) is down on his luck, having become a drunken caricature of his veteran self, deeply regretful of his actions, who accepts a job as an instructor for an incipient Japanese army that needs to be prepared to fight against the Samurai.
As he arrives to Tokyo he starts training a useless bunch of would-be soldiers who are sent to fight even if they’re not ready for it. As a result, the newly formed army gets butchered by the battle experienced Samurai. During that battle, Algren fights bravely and kills one of the highest ranking warriors, getting the interest of the celebrated Katsumoto, the last tall Samurai leader, who orders him captured and brought to his son’s village as a prisoner.
Buy,Download, Or Stream The Last Samurai! Click Here
Once there, Algren’s life is changed forever as he gets to know the genuine lifestyle of the Samurai and their people. They turn out not to be the savages that the Japanese government makes them out to be. After spending winter with them, Algren “changes sides” and joins the Samurai in fighting the Emperor’s army.
The title of the movie tells the final outcome. The Samurai lose the battle. Progress triumphs over tradition. Fresh over frail. But Algren’s past demons are redeemed by his bold actions helping the Samurai.
The just worth of this movie is its see. You can definetely behold where the budget went (other than Cruise’s salary) . A whole village was built and the attention to detail is amazing. The costumes are simply unbelievable, especially the battle armors. The costume designer is Ngila Dickson, who also worked in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Also of glance are the battle scenes, which are breathtaking. Very violent, but not gratuitous, they aid the fable very well.
As for the acting, Skim does a handsome job, and is slowly but consistently becoming a better actor (even if this particular performance was not nominated for an Academy Award), but the movie belongs to Ken Watanabe (who was indeed nominated) as Katsumoto. His presence demands attention. He is the center of every scene he’s in. Koyuki’s performance as Taka, Katsumoto’s sister and Algren’s worship interest, should also be noticed.

This DVD was purchased based in fragment on the one existing review and its modest designate. Regretably, it is entirely disappointing, representing a nearly worthless rob. The visual images are level-headed photographs which have all the appearance of color illustrations from 1950’s and 1960’s disappear books: they are old-fashioned, blurry and the colors are tired and monotonous.
Buy,Download, Or Stream FLORENCE: Cradle of the Renaissance! Click Here
Most images of art objects, like statues and those of building facades, are so blurry that details cannot be seen. “Motion” in the DVD consists of the camera zooming into these feeble photos or panning across them, only making the visual quality worse - and the antique automobiles and everyday clothing aged by people in outdoor scenes leave no doubt about the age of the unusual photos. The narration is equally tired and old-fashioned: simplistic statements about the “shadowy ages” and the artists sound like they belong in a stupid art history lecture from the 1950’s and would never stand up to today’s more lucid, informed, and balanced interpretations of events and artists. The classical music selections in the background only add distraction to an already terrible quality soundtrack.
This DVD is so cheaply produced, it really painful to eye, even though there is a modest amount of useful, moral information included in the narration. In short, don’t retract this DVD if you are thinking of using it for instructional purposes unless you intend to establish a class to sleep or as an introduction to - or a souvenier of - a jog to Florence. In fact, don’t consider of buying it at all. With shipping charges included, the lowest heed you can assume a copy for is between $9.00 and $10.00. At this heed point, a far better pick would be the “Florence” DVD from Naxos.
Buy,Download, Or Stream FLORENCE: Cradle of the Renaissance! Click Here
Unlike the DVD under review, the Naxos DVD is nearly twice as long (about 54 minutes) and consists of very high quality, professionally produced color videos of various buildings, sites and historical locations in Florence, accompanied by classical music which is very well chosen to accompany the images. While this DVD has no narration, it does advance with a very complete booklet with notes on each “Chapter” (Naxos’ choice of words for “Scenes”) . This DVD + a suitable guide book would be more than adequate to prepare anyone for a first vist to Florence.
Part of the Museum City Series, Florence: Cradle of the Renaissance is an fabulous DVD tour of Italy’s cultural center, known for being the epicenter of a cultural rebirth in art, architecture, and philosophy during the 15th century. Taking the viewer on a tour of Florence’s most famed masterpieces, including Michelangelo’s David, The Bapistry Doors, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Pazzi Chapel, the Medici and Uffizi palaces, and the Birth of Venus, Florence: Cradle of the Renaissance celebrates both enormous art and landmark history. A Florence museum guide rounds out this unforgettable voyage, especially recommended for armchair travelers, and surely the next best thing to flying to Florence to view its sizable treasures in person. 33 minutes, digitally mastered audio & video.

I have a soft state for “Lilies of the Field.” One of my popular teachers first introduced me to this movie. I’ll try (and probably fail) to be unprejudiced in my review.
First, and most obviously, Sidney Poitier is fantastic as Homer Smith. Homer is a miniature larger than life. Yet Poitier brings him off as not only believable, he turns Homer into an everyman of sorts.
Beyond Poitier things score a cramped shaky.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Lilies of the Field! Click Here
Lilia Skala is impressive indeed as the mother reliable. Her harsh seeming exterior conceals a tender heart. The dignity she uses to deal with Smith’s first leaving and return is truly endearing.
That said, the other nuns and many of the villagers approach off a itsy-bitsy too cardboard-cut-outish for my taste. There is also some blooming “sixties” acting (where you can visibly notice the actor acting) . Luckily, these flaws are easily overcome by the titanic heart of this film.
At its core, Lilies of the Field is about resurrection and unexpected fulfillment. Coming together under the guidance of an unseen hand (”he execute the chapel”), disparate people obtain more to life than what had seemed to be there before. The scene with the Priest at the raze smooth gets me after seeing it more than a few times.

I give “Lilies of the Field” my heartfelt recommendation.
If you overload on frustration or inflame and want to delete it, then go discover this film. It will purchase the load off you and give you some hope and peace in its dwelling. All that I can say is that mere words fail me in praising this film!

My expectations were extreme when I purchased this fifty-minute long DVD, dating from 1996. Both the title and the knowledge that Leonard Nimoy would be the narrator led me to suspect a sensationalist Hollywood arrive that would postulate that Venice had been built by faded Egyptians or that aliens had designed St Mark’s Cathedral. But, I was so rotten! For, when I saw the face of Professor Albert Ammerman, I knew I would be on grand ground. Other contributors include Frances Clarke (President of the Venice in Effort Fund), Ettore Vio (Proto of St Mark’s), Sally Spector (”artist”), and Laura Sabbadin (”historian”, although Amazon is quiet on any books that this contributor may have written) . This is no mere tourist guide to Venice, but rather a helpful short historical review of the city’s origins and development. There are five chapters.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Ancient Mysteries - Miraculous Canals of Venice! Click Here
The first fragment, “Run into the Water”, focuses on the city’s genesis in the lagoon with a concentration on archaeology and the technology required to get houses and provide means of livelihood for their inhabitants. There is a welcome discussion about salt-making and the importance of trade. In the second portion, “A City is Born”, there is a novel witness at how the foundations of the buildings were set aside into dwelling, and how the Istrian marble that rests on top of the timber stakes provides wonderful defence against the eroding waters of the canals - or, at least, they did do prior to the subsidence of the land and the rising of the tides since those days (peep comments on fragment five, below) .
In the third fragment of the programme, “A Elegant Empire”, there are the standard references to Venice’s success in commerce and trade in the Medieval and Renaissance periods, to Marco Polo, to the Fourth Crusade and the attack on Constantinople.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Ancient Mysteries - Miraculous Canals of Venice! Click Here
A few misconceptions may arise in the mind of the less knowledgeable viewer from watching this DVD. For example, the cover will exhibit ice-flows representing the ruin of the Ice Age, as if this was the ogle that would have been seen in the Venetian Lagoon. In addition, the commentary refers to the cathedral on the island of Torcello dating to the year 639, when the camera shows, of course, the exhibit later cathedral that was built on the same location. There are a few queer comments too, such as the Venetian Empire once dominating western civilisation: huh? And a few howlers as well: for example, Nimoy says that horses were never allowed in the city, when there is great of evidence of their presence up to (and including) the nineteenth century. And Venetian prisons were contaminated for torture? Only if you listen to Napoleonic propaganda: rather, Venetian prisons were illustrious for their humanity and ease. That’s not to say that torture never took station, but in the context of other European powers of the time, I would powerful rather be in prison in Venice than in prison in Madrid or Paris!
There is some consideration given of the Venetian political system, its checks and balances to ensure that no one man or family became dominant. A wry smile crossed my face when I heard Nimoy’s apparent surprise at how precise the Venetians were to their republic and its constitution, when he is a citizen of what is arguably a original equivalent. The medical, social and cultural benefits to the citizens are fleetingly mentioned, as is the decadence of the eighteenth century. (The fourth chapter is entitled “Decadence and Surrender”.)
In the fifth and final section, “Is Venice Sinking? “, the effects of the rising waters on the bricks above the level of the Istrian marble are obvious to view, and views of the Ca’ Da Mosto dramatically demonstrate the three-foot incompatibility that has arisen since its initial construction in the thirteenth century. Meanwhile the effects of the 1966 flood are shown in the crypt of St Mark’s Cathedral. Plans for floodgates to fill encourage the waters of the Adriatic from the lagoon are canvassed at the extinguish of the programme, but the threat of global warming does not seem to have instilled a sense of urgency in the proposals.
Alas, there are no extras to this DVD, but I was overall very contented with its train. It is not the best DVD I have seen on Venice - that honour goes to the four-hour visual feast, “Francesco’s Venice”, by the BBC - but it is a ample second-place and is heartily recommended for those wanting a more serious arrive to the origins and delights of La Serenissima.
This is an gripping video of how the city of Venice was formed through innovation and hard work. You’ll be wanting to visit after viewing the scenes of old times as well as modern-day Venice — beautifully filmed and interestingly narrated. One of the best “travelogues” ever!

Black Orpheus is an righteous film spot in Rio de Janeiro during Carnaval. Honest a simple chronicle of boy meets girl, boy falls in adore with girl, lovers have to face the complications of their forbidden esteem, and finally, the consequences of their fancy. A unique day (at the time) retelling of the classic Orpheus and Eurydice account, Sunless Orpheus is a masterpiece. The acting by Breno Mello (Orpeo), Marpessa Dawn (Eurydice) Loudes de Oliveira(Mira), and Lea Garcia (Sarafina) is gleaming! Mello and Dawn exude sexuality. They are so excellent in every scene. I wish they would release this movie again so that the general public could peer true acting.
When Marcel Camus’ Shaded ORPHEUS was first introduced in 1959, nobody in the world had ever seen–or heard–anything like it. It immediately won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. And it introduced Carnival in Rio and the amazing sounds of bossa nova and samba music to everyone, everywhere. Thanks largely to ORPHEUS, Rio became a top tourist destination, and the animated, haunting music of Brazil is here to halt.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Black Orpheus: Essential Art House! Click Here
As for the film itself, it simply has to be experienced. Camus took the primitive Greek fable of Orpheus and Eurydice and transposed it to current South America. Orpheus was the singer beloved of the gods, whose music made the sun rise. When he fell in appreciate with the nymph Eurydice, the jealous goddess of Dawn sent Death to raze her rival. Grieving Orpheus traveled to Hell to salvage his wearisome appreciate and bring her encourage to the world of the living. This is impossible, of course–only the gods are allowed to bring the plain befriend to life–and the anecdote ends tragically. In this film, the magnificent, doomed lovers are pursued by Death against the stark, gleaming background of Carnival in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, and Hell is portrayed as…well, gape for yourself. The cast is made up of talented acting/singing/dancing unknowns, and the legend is so simple, you probably won’t need the subtitles translating the spare Portuguese dialogue.
There’s never been anything like this film, before or since. Only WEST SIDE Legend comes end, with its novel music-and-dance retelling of Shakespeare, but Dismal ORPHEUS is more naturalistic and charming. Once seen, it is never forgotten, and the illustrious musical find of Antonio Carlos Jobim and Luiz Bonfá will discontinue with you as well. An absolute must for anyone enthusiastic in the art–and history–of film. Highly recommended.

Absurd! Foul! Now this slow device of releasing TV series in two halves for each season has reached Gunsmoke! Fox and Paramount are becoming very greedy and insulting the people who choose this sort of DVDs. It is really disappointing to derive half season of these classic TV series (Gunsmoke, The Mountainous Valley, Rawhide, The Streets of San francisco, The Untouchables and others) and wait months and months, or a whole year, to acquire the other half. I will never occupy half seasons any longer…this is a determined message to Paramount and Fox.
First these idiots release costly boxes with selected episodes from several seasons, most of them NOT among the best shows and largely chosen for their “great name” guest stars or directors.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Gunsmoke - The Second Season, Vol. 1! Click Here
Second, after soaking us for those minimalist sets, and waiting until several complete seasons of virtually all other 50s-60s TV Westerns have been released (like “Have Gun, Will Move”), they FINALLY release the first season of “Gunsmoke,” the very best TV Western and the only TV drama to urge 20 consecutive years!
Third, they settle to release the second season in multiple installments! What are these characters thinking? No one’s going to go for this greedy attempt to squeeze money from “Gunsmoke” fans.
Buy,Download, Or Stream Gunsmoke - The Second Season, Vol. 1! Click Here
Most of the first 4 seasons were released on DVD through the CBS Video Club years ago. Those of us who bought those DVDs are now being asked to recall the same thing again, in excruciatingly tiresome increments, and at jacked up prices.
Matt Dillon and his Dodge City friends deserve the most respectful and classy treatment possible. Instead, “Gunsmoke” is among the worst conceived DVD releases to date.
I’ll stick with my bootleg DVDs - they may not be perfect, but I can afford them and all 20 years are there.
